MY REVIEW
Love
this cute story about Freddy and his imaginary friend Hoppie. I like the way the author used a very
creative way to help reduce the fears a child might encounter when visiting an
eye doctor for the first time. The message is crystal clear in that it shows
that children often are too embarrassed to seek help when they have a
disability that can easily be fixed.
The
author did an outstanding job bringing into focus a very serious problem that
must be remedied in order for some children to excel in school. I think many parents can relate well to this
charming story, especially, if the little ones in their life need glasses.
The
colorful illustrations added more depth and value to the story and can help the
reader appreciate the important message even more. I recommend this story for classroom and
school libraries and doctor offices, for ages 6 to 8.
